Inget OS-deltagande för Sverige i skidalpinism
En 8:e plats för Tove & Jerker vid dagens Mixed Relay i Solitude, USA räckte inte för att Sverige skulle kvalificera till OS i Milano-Cortina 2026.
Endast en (1) poäng efter Slovakien som kvalificerade sig som sista nation i Mixed Relay enligt den olympiska rankingen … så nära var det.

ISMF World Cup Ski Mountaineering Solitude USA
Idag, lördag 6 december, avgörs om Sverige får platser till OS 2026 i Milano-Cortina. Sverige har möjlighet att kvala in genom distansen Mixed Relay, vilken påminner om längdåkningens sprintstafett med skillnaden att varje lag består av två åkare, en herre och en dam, som kör två sträckor var.
För OS-platser behöver Sverige i första hand slå Polen eller Slovakien. Innan dagens tävlingen ligger Polen 2 poäng före och Slovakien 10 poäng före Sverige i den olympiska rankingen. Så det är upplagt för en riktigt spännade tävling …
I det svenska förstalaget kör Tove och Jerker Lysell, i andralaget Johanna Gelfgren och Malte Lessing.
Today, Saturday 6 December, it will be decided whether Sweden will get places for the 2026 Olympics in Milan-Cortina. Sweden has the opportunity to qualify through the Mixed Relay distance, which is similar to the sprint relay in cross-country skiing, with the difference that each team consists of two skiers, one man and one woman, who run two distances each.
For Olympic places, Sweden primarily needs to beat Poland or Slovakia. Before today’s competition, Poland is 2 points ahead and Slovakia is 10 points ahead of Sweden in the Olympic rankings. So it is set for a really exciting competition …
Tove and Jerker Lysell are running in the Swedish first team, Johanna Gelfgren and Malte Lessing in the second team.

Tove är en av kandidaterna till Svenska Dagbladets guldmedalj, även benämt Bragdguldet. 2025 har varit ett av Toves mest framgångsrika år med VM-Guld i både Skidalpinism, Orientering och Trailrunning ett och samma år, något som åtminstone vi tycker är en idrottsbragd utöver det normala. I morgon tisdag klockan 13.00 får vi se om juryn för bragdguldet delar vår uppfattning. 🙂
Tove is one of the candidates for the Svenska Dagbladet gold medal, also known as the Gold of Achievement. 2025 has been one of Tove’s most successful years with World Championship Gold in both Ski Mountaineering, Orienteering and Trail Running, something that at least we think is an achievement beyond the norm. Tomorrow, Tuesday at 1:00 PM, we will see if the jury for the Gold of Achievement shares our opinion. 🙂

THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE OF ALL TIME.
There, I said it. Because yes, Sweden’s Tove Alexandersson at the World Championships in the short format on September 26th is the craziest thing the trail running world has ever seen. Let’s calmly analyze the situation:
• 5 hours 4 minutes for 44.5 kilometers and 3657 meters of elevation gain. 1st place, 17th overall. Clean.
• She is only 22 minutes behind the winner, the sharp Fred Tranchand. He’s also an orienteer, how interesting.
• She has a 34-minute lead over second place, the brute Sara Alonso. The first Frenchwoman, Clémentine Geoffray (6th), arrives 42 minutes later.
• She is therefore closer to winning overall than to being second in the women’s category.
• Odds: 880. You read that right: 880. Courtney Dauwalter had 872 when winning the Western States in 2023 in 15h29 and smashing the race record.
Tove has 15 world championship titles in orienteering. Tove’s downhill speed is so stratospheric that if you try to keep up with her, you’ll twist your ankle in 25 seconds. Tove has three world championship titles this year in three disciplines: orienteering, ski mountaineering, and trail running. Tove’s performance at the World Trail Championships is legendary in our sport, way up there, just above the stars.
